anne sweeney

An early interest in embroidery and design led Anne to study for her City and Guilds in Creative Embroidery at Telford College during 1990 - 1994. Since achieving the qualification she has exhibited in galleries throughout Scotland both with Group Twelve and the Embroiderers' Guild.

The ever changing landscape is a continuing fascination to her. It provides a constant source of inspiration, from the ever changing seasons, winter in its stark simplicity, spring the promise of a new beginning, summer with its full palette of colour to autumn and its many russet shades.

Paper, paint and found items within the landscape, all contribute to the interpretation of what she sees and observes when gathering source material for each new piece of work.
